Asia Farm Animal Day (AFAD)

Where it all began
Asia Farm Animal Day (AFAD), celebrated annually on October 10, is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the protection of farmed animals across Asia. AFAD highlights the efforts of advocates and organizations working to improve the welfare of farmed animals in the region and encourages the public to learn about and support these important initiatives.
What People Say About AFAD
The Evolution of AFAD
Launched by Asia for Animals’ Farm Animal Coalition (FAC) in 2020, the aim of AFAD is to offer a real-world platform for networking, forming friendships, collaboration and unity across the movement. Over the years, the initiative has seen support from hundreds of organizations and advocates in the continent and has become a much celebrated gathering of organizations, working on behalf of Asia’s farmed animals. It is now a day during which both NGOs and the public can take part in and promote awareness-raising and educational activities that focus on the sentience, wonder, and inherent value of farmed animals and how to improve their welfare across Asia.
